Community Health Program Description The shift from individual health care delivery to population-based care has occurred. The demand is growing for masters prepared nurses with a knowledge of Epidemiology, outcome management and business administration. The focus of community health nursing is the integration of community/public health theory and research in the development and implementation of community partnership interventions that build community capacity. This dynamic Community Health Clinical Nurse Specialist Program builds on the knowledge base required to deal with the 21st century issues of infectious diseases, lengthening of the life expectancy and a huge growth in world population. Course work emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach to community and global health with a solid knowledge base in Epidemiology and business management skills. Graduates are prepared to work in community, state and federal settings related to population-based health. Program Plan
