Nurse Educator Career Development Pathway (NECDP)

Nurse Educators are responsible for teaching and mentoring the next generation of nurses. Working in the classroom and in the practice setting, these nurses are responsible for preparing, inspiring, instructing and encouraging nursing students, and fostering in them an appreciation of the nursing profession.

Nurse Educators indicate they enjoy the interaction with students as they gain confidence and skill. Other benefits include access to knowledge and research opportunities to collaborate with other health professionals, a stimulating workplace, and flexible work schedules.
