Pediatric Nursing Post-Master's Certificate

The Post-Master's Certificate Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) track is designed for nurses with an already existing MSN and who now wants to specialize in advanced pediatric nursing.

Application Requirements

To be considered for admission, applicants must have the following:

Master's degree in nursing with a clinical specialization from a NLN or CCNE accredited program with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (4.0 scale)
Current unrestricted licensure to practice as a RN

Applicants must complete an admission interview and the University and College of Nursing application materials.

Pre-Requisite Courses

The student must transfer in (with a grade of B or better) or complete the following pre-requisite graduate courses:

Health Assessment for Advanced Practice, i.e. 29NURS812	4 quarter credits
Advanced Physiology 29NURS810 or Cellular Pathophysiology	4 quarter credits
Pharmacology for Advanced Nursing Practice 29-NURS-813	3 quarter credits
Genetics & Fetal Development 29-ANPC-844 or Genetic Applications to APNs 29NURS818	3 quarter credits or 2 quarter credits

Required Courses for Post-Master's Certificate Program

Advanced Pediatric Pharmacology 29ANPC831	3 quarter credits
Child Development & Family Functioning in Acute/Chronic Populations 29ANPC852 or Family & Life Span Development Theories 29ANPC801	3 quarter credits
