National Society of Genetic Counselors
NSGC is an advocate for the profession of genetic counseling. The mission of NSGC claims that the genetic counseling profession is "a recognized and integral part of health care delivery, education, research and public policy". This link can provide information with regards to understanding NSGC, taking a stand, other resource links, how to contact NSGC, as well as a variety of other information.

American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG)
The American Society of Human Genetics is a professional membership organization for human geneticists. It provides a link through which geneticists in North America can share their research findings. In addition, ASHG strives to inform health care providers, policy makers, and the general public about human genetics. Some of the valuable information that this web site will provide includes annual meeting information, ASHG publications, educational information, current human genetic legislative activity, and how to become a member.

The Alliance of Genetic Support Groups
The Alliance of Genetic Support Groups is an organization which provides a site where children, adults, and families living with, and at risk for, genetic conditions can voice and hear common concerns. It provides a link for the directory of genetic organizations, useful resources, the alert newsletter, programs and membership application, members corner, and other publications.

Council of Regional Networks for Genetic Services (CORN)
The Council of Regional Networks for Genetic Services (CORN) "brings together network representatives to encourage and facilitate communication and planning for genetic services as well as addressing national public health priorities in genetics". This site supplies information about CORN goals, committees, meetings, publications, membership, and other related resource links.

Genetics Societies
The Genetic Societies website provides valuable links to a variety of specialized genetic organizations including The Genetics Society of America, The American Board of Medical Genetics, and The Association of Professors of Human or Medical Genetics. In addition, this site provides educational genetic information, how to become certified in the genetics field, and related genetic position openings. Furthermore, the Genetics Societies Home Page contains the ability to search for particular information or key words within this site.

Maternal & Child Health Bureau (MCHB)
The Maternal and Child Health Bureau is responsible for "promoting and improving the health of our Nation's mothers and children". Some of their current goals include reducing infant mortality, assuring access to health care for all mothers and children, and providing comprehensive care to children/adolescents with special health needs. Further information on MCHB can be found through this website's links to bureau information, grants guidance, newsletter publications, MCH Divisions, and related web sites.

NIH/National Institute of Child Health & Human Development (NORD)
"National Organization for Rare Disorders, Inc. is the only organization of its kind - a unique federation of more than 140 not-for-profit voluntary health organizations serving people with rare disorders and disabilities. NORD is committed to the identification, treatment, and cure of rare disorders through programs of education, advocacy, research, and service". This website includes information regarding the definition of rare disorders, newsletters, awards to NORD, library of links, programs and services, and special events.
