Co-op Program
Application & Selection Guidelines
Students who meet or exceed these guidelines are
invited to complete the application form for consideration in the program.
All applications and required supporting documents must be received
no later than March 1. Forms may be emailed to shirley.alsup@uc.edu or
mailed to Co-op Program, College of Nursing University of Cincinnati,
PO Box 210038, Cincinnati, OH 45221-0038.
- Applications accepted during the junior
year. Deadline: March 1.
- Cumulative GPA 3.0 or greater.
- Meet the hospital’s job related
health requirements.
- Have current certification in Basic Life Support at the healthcare
provider level.
- Be available to work fulltime (32-40 hours
per week and rotate all shifts during the summer from June until
college class’s resume
in September. Ten days are provided for vacation as well as three
sick days during the co-op year. You must also be available
to work fulltime during the three week December break. (You
will not be required to work the holidays.) You will be required
to work a minimum of 16 hours a month during the school year.
Complete
the official nursing
co-op application.
- Submit your most recent clinical evaluation form (can be obtained from clinical faculty).
- Grant permission to review college transcript.
- Solicit two official recommendations from clinical
faculty attesting to strong work ethic and professionalism.
