Marilyn S. Sommers Data Collection Centre

During 2002 and again in 2004 the College of Nursing (CON) received funds from the Provost's and Dean's Offices to construct the Data Collection Center, an expansion of the Institute for Nursing Research, which supports faculty and graduate student studies. Dean Andrea Lindell, PhD, RN, ANEF, notes, “University of Cincinnati nurse scientists now have laboratory space and interview rooms within the walls of their College for conducting investigations. We are delighted that the University supports our dedication to research initiatives.”

Important components of the nine-room suite are two dry laboratory-examination rooms that are used for data collection, physical examinations needed for protocols, and biometric evaluations such as electrocardiography and colposcopy. Colleagues throughout the University's Academic health Center have been very generous in providing our nurse investigators with space to implement their research protocols. Our investigators are excited to have in-house laboratory space.

The name was officially changed to the Marilyn S. Sommers Data Collection Centre in 2006.
