Bennis Nursing Leadership Badge

In partnership with the Warren Bennis Leadership Institute, the College of Nursing offers BSN students a non-credit digital badge of an innovative credential.

What is a digital badge?

A digital badge serves as proof of a credential earned, similar to how a diploma represents a degree. It describes skills gained, criteria met, and additional insights related to the credential. It highlights your knowledge, skills, and competencies, providing value to both you and employers.

The Bennis Nursing Leadership Badge utilizes tools such as in person workshop presentations, thoughtful reflections/discussions, and a final presentation to assess and develop student’s nursing leadership qualities:

  • Communication
  • Teamwork
  • Ethical decision-making
  • Self-reflection and growth
  • Advocacy

Students attend three Warren Bennis Leadership Institute workshop presentations covering deader identity, visioning, and imposter syndrome. Each workshop has an associated activity including a clinical reflection paper, an intentional discussion about one’s nursing conflict approach, culminating with a final presentation presented to a group of the student’s choice, respectively.

All activities and experiences are in addition to degree requirements and will be completed prior to graduation throughout the program.
